Back Lot Music announces the release of “Light Over the Hill,” performed by Grammy Award®-nominated artist Noah Cyrus and featured in the upcoming Universal Pictures film, Reminders of Him. The track – written by Cyrus, alongside American DJ & producer Justin Franks and Australian singer-songwriter & producer PJ Harding – marks the first time the singer has written an original song for a film.
Cyrus explains here method for writing the track, stating “…I wanted to create a song that sonically put you in the location and the community they live in, and music that the people in the movie would have liked.” She continued, “We felt this fresh lift of energy and hopefulness of having love and family and the chance of a new start. The representation of light and that new beginning.” As such, the instrumentation on the track became a folky-bluegrass blend. “Everything is so organic. It’s so light and airy because that’s what I felt from watching the film from start to finish.”

Leading an all-female filmmaking team, Vanessa Caswill (Love at First Sight, Little Women mini-series) directs Reminders of Him from a screenplay by Colleen Hoover and Lauren Levine, based on Hoover’s novel. The film is produced by Colleen Hoover (exec producer of It Ends with Us, Regretting You), Lauren Levine (Bridge to Terabithia, exec producer, Confess series) and Gina Matthews (Isn’t it Romantic, 13 Going on 30), and is executive produced by Robin Mulcahy Fisichella.
